Jovena Natal, provides Director-level HR and Accounting services.  She has consulted in Human Resources, Accounting/Finance, and Project Management roles in a variety of industries, including Technology, Design, Retail, and Non-Profit.  Some of her past accounts include: The Smithsonian Institution, the U.S. Department of Labor through a subcontract with American Association of Community Colleges, and Pop and Company.

Before moving to New York, Jovena established and directed the Human Resources function for Atlas Accelerator in Seattle.  She was a Principal of the firm, and helped build-out the team from five consultants to twenty within a six-month time period.  Some of her most successful clients through Atlas Accelerator included, Coffee Equipment Company (acquired by Starbucks), ExpertCity.com (went public - Nasdaq: CTXS), and Nothing Real (acquired by Apple.)  Prior to beginning her first consulting practice, Jovena worked in public accounting for a year.

While Jovena’s specialty is Human Resources, her finance experience contributes toward her ability to develop meaningful HR metrics, staffing budgets, and financial analysis of HR initiatives.  And, her Project Management experience helps her to carefully plan and complete on-time, on-budget HR projects.  Jovena’s HR experience ranges from running the entire function, to advising executives, to training administrative staff.  She has developed and delivered board presentations, and has written the staffing section of several funded business plans.

Jovena holds a BS degree in Business Administration from American University, with a specialization in Entrepreneurship.  In addition, she holds an AS degree in Accounting, and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Outside of her paid work, Jovena is active in several volunteer activities.  Currently, she serves as a Panelist for Youth Ventures and an Advisor for a community-based organization, Facilitating Leadership in Youth.  Jovena handled the 501(c)3 and other legal organization for FLY, helped lead their initial strategic planning efforts, fundraised, and served as a Founding Board Member.
